Primary Talent Partners (PTP) recently hosted the Soles for STEM event, creating positive, STEM-focused experiences for students in our local community. Partnering with the Dottie Rose Foundation and Guidant Global, the initiative featured a Back-to-School sneaker giveaway paired with interactive STEM activities that engaged over 40 bright young minds.
The event was designed not only to provide students with essential school gear but also to spark long-term interest in STEM careers, especially within underrepresented communities. From coding challenges to engineering puzzles, each activity was crafted to inspire curiosity and problem-solving skills. The participation of Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU) students as volunteers further strengthened the impact, offering mentorship and real-world examples of how STEM can shape futures.
“Our goal is to create lasting impressions that go beyond the event,” said Ryleigh Jackson, Marketing Manager at PTP. “Through #SolesForSTEM, we aim to set students on a path toward careers in STEM fields, while building confidence and excitement for what lies ahead.”
The event was supported by a committed group of volunteers and left a tangible mark on the students who attended, showing how community engagement can serve as a pipeline for future STEM talent. This collaboration is part of PTP’s broader mission to empower underrepresented groups, with a long-term vision to guide more individuals into STEM careers.
